About Shane Porter
Nothing exciting here
I was born in Melbourne, Australia. At the end of Year 11, I left school and became an apprentice painter and decorator. It wasn’t long before I realised I didn’t care too much for painting houses, so I gave that up and got a job at the State Bank of Victoria.
I was married at the age of 22, and before long, we had five children. And yes, we are still happily married after all these years. Now, the tribe includes ten grandchildren.
In recent years, I completed a Graduate Certificate in Management at the Australian Institute of Business and a Master of Business Administration at Southern Cross University, specialising in Managing and Leading People. While I am still actively managing our ERP Services company with my business partner, I now spend much more time on my writing projects.
In November 2023, I underwent an aortic valve and root replacement due to a congenital heart defect. Recovery from open heart surgery is pretty hard work, not just physically but also mentally. But hey, I'm all good now and don't have anything to complain about. It was simply by a stroke of luck that my heart problem was discovered ... I had no symptoms.
